Directory Model
Answering the question “Has the over saturation of display advertising
caused customers to lose their way?” for Senior Capstone.
Thesis Statement:
Though wayfinding directories are usually located close to entrances and are considered easily accessible, mall displays and advertising have become so over saturated that directory displays get lost. The uniformity of display design has caused all signage to simply blend into one and become easily over looked. The over use of display advertising and the ever changing ads have desensitized customers from even looking at the displays.
This was a development of a directory that would stand out from the rest of the displays for easy identification. The process included collection of data and research, sketch-ups of different display types, illustrated elevations of directory design and a scaled model of the directory.
